Background:

Receptor-associated protein (RAP) functions as a specialized endoplasmic reticulum chaperone assisting in the folding and trafficking of members of the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor family. RAP efficiently binds to these receptors and antagonizes binding of other ligands.

Description :

Recombinant Rat Receptor Associated Protein is a fused-Rat his:RAP:c-myc protein expressed in E.Coli with a MW of 40kD (38862 Daltons) as determined by SDS gel electrophoresis. Recombinant RAP is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Physical Appearance:

White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Formulation:

Recombinant RAP, at a concentration of 1 mg/ml, was lyophilized from a sterile solution containing TBS pH-7.5, 0.1% BSA and 0.09% NaN3.

Solubility:

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized recombinant RAP in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Stability:

Lyophilized RAP although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18蚓. Upon reconstitution RAP should be stored at 4蚓 between 2-7 days and for future use below -18蚓. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity:

Greater than 95.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE coomassie blue gel.

Dimers and aggregates:

Less than 1% as determined by coomassie blue SDS-PAGE gel analysis.

Endotoxin:

Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Human Keratin.
