Description:
Recombinant Human Intrinsic Facor (IF, GIF, Cobalamin/Vitamin B-12 binding transport protein). Recombinant Human IF produced in baculovirus is a glycosylated,
polypeptide chain containing having a molecular mass of 44,228 Dalton.
Human IF is fused to a hexa-histidine at the C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques for removal of bound Vitamin B-12.
Physical Appearance:
Sterile Filtered colorless solution.
Formulation:
The protein solution contains 20mM HEPES pH-8.
Stability:
Recombinant IF although stable at 10
0C for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -18
0C.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity:
Greater than 95.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Anion-exchange FPLC.
(c) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained.
Biological Activity:
Standard ELISA test (checker-board analysis of positive/negative sera panels), immunodot with anti-IF autoantibody positive patient sera.
Can be used for solid ELISA and fluid phase diagnostic assays, 0.25-0.65ug/ml.
Suitable for biotinylation and iodination.
Endotoxin:
Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Recombinant Human IF.
Protein content:
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm.
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC.
