Background:

A 60kD extracellular protein of Streptomyces avidinii with four high-affinity biotin binding sites. Unlike AVIDIN, streptavidin has a near neutral isoelectric point and is free of carbohydrate side chains.

Description :

Recombinant Streptavidin-NC produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain having a molecular mass of 24kDa. Recombinant Streptavidin-NC not only binds to nitrocellulose membrane readily but also preserves the full biotin binding ability.
Recombinant Strptavidin is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Physical Appearance:

Sterile filtered liquid formulation.

Formulation:

0.5 mg/ml glycerol.

Stability:

Recombinant Strptavidin although stable at 4 C for 21 days, should be stored desiccated below -20 C for long term periods .
Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity:

Greater than 90.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Anion-exchange FPLC.
(c) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.

Dimers and aggregates:

Less than 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.

Endotoxin:

Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Recombinant Strptavidin.

Calibrators and controls for immunoassays and western blot standards
