Certificate of Analysis and Data Sheet
Source:
Baculovirus Insect Cells.
Catalog No.
PRO-288
Background:
Thrombospondin-1 is believed to play a role in cell migration and proliferation, during embryogenesis and wound repair. Also, it has been studied for its use as a potential regulator of tumor growth and metastasis
TSP expression is highly regulated by different hormones and cytokines and is developmentally controlled.
TSP stimulates the growth of vascular smooth muscle cells and human foreskin fibroblasts,a combination of
IFN-gamma and
TNF-alpha inhibits TSP production in these cells.
Description :
Recombinant Human TSP is glycosylated with N-linked sugars and produced using baculovirus vectors in insect cells.
Recombinant TSP is Reactive with A4.1 anti-TSP mAb and its Mw is 14,000 dalton.
Physical Appearance:
Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Formulation:
The sterile protein solution (0.178mg/ml) contains 30mM Sodium phosphate, pH 7 and 500mM NaCl.
Stability:
Recombinant Human TSP should be stored between 2
0C- 8
0C.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity:
Greater than 90.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Anion-exchange FPLC.
(c) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.
Dimers and aggregates:
Less than 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.
