Background:

Alpha-Methylacyl-CoA Racemase (AMACR), also known as P504S, is a recently identified molecular marker for prostate cancer. The expression of AMACR/P504S has also been observed in high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN), a precursor lesion of prostate cancer. P504S / AMACR / a-Methylacyl-CoA Racemase is an essential enzyme in the b-oxidation of branched-chain fatty acids. High expression of P504S protein is found in prostatic adenocarcinoma but not in benign prostate tissue by immunohistochemical staining in paraffin-embedded tissue.

Description :

Recombinant AMACR is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Physical Appearance:

Sterile filtered liquid.

Formulation:

100ug/ml in 50mM Tris-Acetate, pH7.5, 1mM EDTA, 20% Glycerol without BSA and Sodium Azide.

Stability:

Store vial at -20C^o to -80C^o. When stored at the recommended temperature, recombinant p504s/AMACR is stable for 12 months.
Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity:

Greater than 90.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE coomassie blue gel.

Endotoxin:

Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Human p504s/AMACR.
