Background:
Leukaemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a multifunctional cytokine, which plays a role in growth-promotion and differentiation, regulates calcium and bone metabolism, induces acute phase proteins and causes cachexia in organisms with neoplastic disorders. Moreover, LIF participates in the induction of inflammation, and therefore represents an important pathogenic factor of many disorders. A member of the gp130 cytokine family, is involved in osteoarticular tissue metabolism and might participate in osteogenesis. Immunohistochemical staining showed that LIF is expressed in hypertrophic chondrocytes and vascular sprouts of cartilage and bone during rat and human osteogenesis.
Description :
Recombinant Human LIF produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 180 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19700 Dalton.
Recombinant LIF purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
