Recombinant Huamn Leukemia Inhibitory Factor

Certificate of Analysis and Data Sheet

Source:
E.Coli

Catalog No.
CYT-281

Background:

Leukaemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a multifunctional cytokine, which plays a role in growth-promotion and differentiation, regulates calcium and bone metabolism, induces acute phase proteins and causes cachexia in organisms with neoplastic disorders. Moreover, LIF participates in the induction of inflammation, and therefore represents an important pathogenic factor of many disorders. A member of the gp130 cytokine family, is involved in osteoarticular tissue metabolism and might participate in osteogenesis. Immunohistochemical staining showed that LIF is expressed in hypertrophic chondrocytes and vascular sprouts of cartilage and bone during rat and human osteogenesis.

Description :

Recombinant Human LIF produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 180 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19700 Dalton. Recombinant LIF purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Physical Appearance:

Sterile liquid clear solution

Formulation:

The sterile protein solution (0.2mg/ml) contains 100mM phosphate buffer pH-7.2

Stability:

rHuLIF although stable at 15蚓 for 3 weeks, should be stored at 4蚓. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).

Purity:

Greater than 95.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE coomassie blue gel.

Dimers and aggregates:

Less than 1% as determined by coomassie blue SDS-PAGE gel analysis.

Endotoxin:

Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Human LIF.

Endotoxin:

The ED50 was determined by the M1 cell differentiation assay is < 0.01 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1 x 108 units/mg.

Usage:

Prospec's products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticidal products, food additives or household chemicals.
