Recombinant HIV-1 TAT protein

Certificate of Analysis and Data Sheet

Catalog No.
HIV-129

Source
E.coli

Background :

Human immunodeficiency virus type-1 (HIV-1) regulatory Trans-Acting Transcription factor (TAT) plays an essential role in viral replication and infectivity. In addition, during acute infection, Tat is released extracellularly by infected cells and is taken up by neighboring cells where it transactivates viral replication and increases virus infectivity.

Description :

Recombinant HIV-I TAT produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 86 aminoacids encoded by two exons and having chain having a molecular mass of 14kDa.
Recombinant HIV-1 TAT is purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.

Physical Appearance:

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Formulation:

Lyophilized with no additives.

Solubility:

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized HIV-I TAT in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Stability:

Lyophilized HIV-I TAT although stable at room temperature for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -18蚓. Upon reconstitution HIV-I TAT should be stored at 4蚓 between 2-7 days and for future use below -18蚓. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity:

Greater than 90.0% as determined by both:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel

Specificity:

Recognized by anti-Tat (HIV-1) polyclonal antibody.
Reacts with anti-Tat antibodies from human, monkey, rabbit and mouse serum.

Endotoxin:

Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of HIV-I TAT.

Usage:

This material is offered by ProSpec-TechnoGene for research, laboratory or further evaluation purposes.
