Description :
Deslorelin is a potent LHRH/GnRH agonist has a molecular formula of C
64H
83N
17O
12 Pyr-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-D-Trp-Leu-Arg-Pro-NHEt having a Mw of 1282.47.
Deslorelin is being studied in the treatment of cancer as a way to block sex hormones made by the ovaries or testicles. It belongs to the family of drugs called gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs. It is used for the induction of ovulation in mares.
Deslorelin binds to and activates pituitary gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) receptors. Continuous, prolonged administration of goserelin in males results in pituitary GnRH receptor desensitization and inhibition of pituitary secretion of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), leading to a significant decline in testosterone production; in females, prolonged administration results in a decrease in estradiol production
Physical Appearance:
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation:
The protein (1mg/ml) was lyophilized with no additives.
Solubility:
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Deslorelin in sterile 18MΩ-cm H
2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Stability:
Lyophilized Deslorelin although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated
below -18
0C. Upon reconstitution Deslorelin should be stored at 4
0C between 2-7 days and for future use
below -18
0C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity:
Greater than 99.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Anion-exchange FPLC.
(c) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained.
Dimers and aggregates:
Less than 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.
Endotoxin:
Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Deslorelin.
Protein content:
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm.
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Atosiban as a Reference Standard.
Usage:
Prospec's products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticidal products, food additives or household chemicals.
